I joined Wonderland to make money. Period. I was attracted to the staking aspect because it supposedly rewarded me for not playing the market. When buying into Wonderland, I had no intention of participating in the Abracadabra ecosystem. Now Abracadabra is a symbol of greed, using leverage to push the price in unnatural directions and causing untold pain and strife for the wonderland community. I need an explanation of how Wonderland failed and how it is no longer sustainable before I would ever agree to sacrifice my initial investment and move it into Abracadabra, which is what I consider the source of my woes. At this time I would vote no on this proposal.
The only point for me is the SPELL/wMEMO ratio that we will receive.
I’m in let’s do it . Saying that this feels like a reactionary move because of the things that happened last night . We should plan more carefully for the future . Time goes on , only memories will remain .
Sounds good. Let’s do it.
The only possibility for TIME token holders that entered at premium prices to not loose money was to hope on the rebase. And they entered at premium exactly for that reason. If we lose that opportunity we basically definitely lose the money. I think this can’t be accepted. Am i missing something?
I’m reposting my proposal here for further discussion
https://www.wonderlandforum.xyz/t/proposal-buy-abracadabra/8059
The current market value of abracadabra is 649M, and we only need to buy 51% to complete the acquisition.
These daniele himself agrees almost to achieve, he holds 30% of WL,
We only need to use the treasury to acquire 300MM~350MM in OTC and daniele to complete it.
Why should such premise be merged?
I’m sure it’s good to work with abracadabra, but it’s pretty stupid to just swap and release the spell for 98B.
It would be better to lock 51% of the token share of the market supply and subsequent emissions directly in the wonderland treasury.
This is a win-win for spell and wonderland.
The spell price won’t take a hit, and wonderland can also maintain liquidation and make further compounding investments.
There’s a sticking point which needs to be addressed that will make it clearer what the incentives are and that is the rate of exchange of Spell for wMEMO that will be applied.
guys im with you, these days are tough but i believe wonderland team is legit and only with good intentions. one day well say wmi together!
I think if this is equitable to wMEMO holders and that the revenue share they’re intending to do with the Wonderland Treasury is NOT shared among all SPELL holders then I’m OKAY with this.
But really, why do this? Why not just keep trucking with the original Wonderland model of investing the treasury into farming/investments and then sharing revenue back to wMEMO holders?
All that needs to happen is they need to prove they can actually get profits back to the holders and then people will have much more confidence and as profits keep coming in, people will flock back and buy the token.
Okay look at this way, they’re seemingly saying Abra will acquire Wonderland (unless I’m missing something). Wonderland has a treasury of ~700 million dollars, our valuation as a company should be then ~7 Billion dollars. Can Abra buy out Wonderland? I don’t think so.
If it’s a true merger then we need details, will wMEMO continue to exist but on the Abracadabra website? I guess I can understand consolidating but we’re bringing a huge amount of capital to Abracadabra if we do that. What are we truly getting in return? That wouldn’t really benefit us on Wonderland. They’ve said that it will streamline governance but this is already a large company, make governane on Wonderland streamlined in its own right. If we’re going to do a merger, make sure it’s mutually beneficial, this is just incredibly one-sided.
Who will negotiate the terms to seek what Wonderland holders would perceive as a “fair” deal? How do you ask people to vote on a merger proposal without telling them the economics? Would you make a binding agreement to buy a car from somebody at a price that the seller and someone else will decide for you later?
This is not a reasonable way to ask wMemo holders to make a decision.
i’m in agreement. been in since oct and if this true it brings back some of the depreciation
and it may incentivize some more investors and new comers!!
Totally agree. I would add that this is not one company. There are two completely separate protocols. They are designed separately, carry separate tokens, and different token holders. The only overlap is that they have overlap in the individuals who are managing aspects, although even those roles are not clear to me. This might create more synergies and efficiencies for the individuals in how they manage their respective obligations, but there is no more inherent synergy between these two protocols than exists between TraderJoe deciding to merge with a completely separate lending protocol. It’s two separate and independent things that they are proposing to merge.
Good points. Thanks for raising these.
Question…
You’ve got over 700m in the bank to work with. Go plain vanilla, don’t mess with gimmicks and flash marketing, put the treasury to use, and payout profits. Hire a few full-time investment specialists to work with Sifu and pay them a salary.
It’s crypto, so it is quite possible to expect that you could turn that into materially more over a comparatively short period which will bring back investors and create price premium over backing.
Why make it complicated?
on the face of it, it is a step back for wonderland holders in opportunity for quick bucks but a 2 or more steps forward in the long run. it just fits in with the long term holding concept which until now in the cryptosphere has been a dicy proposition but will change over time and away from speculators controlling everything. from a practical standpoint, what are the alternatives for wonderland ( i would like to hear from dani and or sifu only on this question please(if they d be so kind). abracabra has a track record, MIM and earnings. it also eliminates a potential conflict of interest and turns it into a combined strength for both in merger.
If Abra removes the leverage of wMEMO, another place will offer it.
Don’t know what to make of this. Feels like wmemo holders are about to get shafted. Does this merger mean that any value that was supposed to be dropped to wmemo holders will now be spread to all existing spell holders?
I dont know guys but this merger seems like it is the easiest way out of this shit show.
If the merger does not take place then the wmemo will die a slow death along with Dani’s rep. I don’t think treasury can afford to maintain buy backs for a long periods of time.
Dani, please for the love of frog nation, can u get someone who can communicate with us at tadpole level.
Don’t have enough clarity/information to be able to make a decision on the proposal but would like to point out something
Unless I am missing something there is a clear conflict of interest. People at the top control both projects (companies in more traditional sense). How can one expect a transparency when people who are making the decision have ownership in both. They can’t possibly be 100% on one side to make a transparent decision regardless of their good intentions.
Would be great to see a locking mechanism to keep whales from manipulating price and standing
with this merge we are going from Avalanche to ETH ???, or we going to have farms, staking on avalanche for SPELL, etc., think please that those gas fees on ETH gonna kill several frogs
thanks
